Contribute to the creation of an Eco-Heritage Trail in the Grand Harbour

Rationale

One of the ideas that emerged from the seminars on ‘Safeguarding and Sharing our Open Spaces’ with the local communities and local councils of the Grand Harbour area was to map the Places of Interest (places of cultural, historic, archaeological, ecological and/or religious importance) and to create Eco-Heritage trails connecting these places. The goal is to present the Blue & Green Open Spaces of the Grand Harbour as an area of local recreational and touristic value. Your mapping contribution will make this a reality.

You are invited to draw on google.com/mymaps (see guidance below), the Places of Interest you know of, and to trace lines on the map where you think Eco-Heritage trails can be of significance. Do not feel constrained to draw trails in areas that are currently not publicly accessible.

All efforts will be brought together in one map on maltaharbour.cartodb.com and will be presented and discussed during the following seminars, with the aim to come to a collective proposal for Eco-Heritage trails in the Grand Harbour area.

If you experience any problems or difficulties with the mapping, please get in touch by sending an e-mail to maltaharbour@gmail.com.
